When we moved into our house I could see closet space was an issue. The 2 girls share this room and one tiny little closet with a door was not going to cut it. The same size closet with door was in the bedroom beside this one, also useless. So something drastic had to be done.

Here I moved panty until into this ‘nook’ and added another one. (you can see the floor board missing where to original pantry was)

And on the island, replaced the back gable for one twice as long and added the left side fridge gable and cut out for the grill.

I’m running out of ways to title the blogs of just kitchens, so I’ll just put the year. This one turned out really nice.

Back of the island has doors with 180* hinges to allow the inner drawers to open.

The uppeer doors on the fridge/stove side have a metal finish, very cool.

Walk in closet.

We moved into our new house in May ’13 – The following spring it was decided a major deck was in order. 1 – to keep the kids some what ‘fenced in’ (it was open before and from the back door could walk to the road). Now you can open the door and let them play away in safety. And 2 – the space was unpractical before, especially for 3 young kids. I’d never built a deck before, but I loved every minute of it.

I just went back to this house to adjust some doors and finally got a snap of the finished job. Looks good. I had to mount the upper cabinet around the chimney stack in the media area, i love seeing the brick inside. I also added a pic of the space when i got there, day 1 of the job.
